I remember a story about a truck driver who happened into a roadside diner and ordered his favorite meal – cheeseburger with coffee and a slice of apple pie. After the waitress delivered his order, three motorcycle dudes entered the cafe, road hardened and looking for trouble. They sized up the restaurants clientele and decided on the truck driver’s space to crowd. The first motorcycle dude took a bite out of his cheeseburger, the second gulped his coffee, while the third mashed his fist into his apple pie. The truck driver nonchalantly got up from his seat, paid the check and left the same as he came.
Victorious, the motorcycle dudes celebrated with a high-five and yelled to the waitress, “Not much of a man is he?” The waitress looked up from her newspaper and indifferently replied, “Yeh. He’s not much of a driver either. He just ran his truck over three motorcycles.” Now we don’t advocate intentionally running over anybody but if we seize a business opportunity, not unlike our trademarked PACKWOOD™ it’s going to result in a few competitors being weeded out of our industry’s way.
PACKWOOD™ ships throughout the world. We call it “your passport” to the global market. Every board meets new ISPM-15 standards for Photosanitary Measures – Publication Number 15. We are partnered with TPI (Timber Products Inspection) who is authorized by the ALSC (American Lumber Standard Committee) to issue stamps to lumber and timber manufacturers that demonstrate the ability to maintain these quality standards for heat treatment lumber. As a condition of our partnership, TPI conducts a minimum of 12 inspection visits per year and are always available to answer any questions regarding export wood packaging.
In addition to PACKWOOD™, Great Northern Lumber is ideally positioned to market other custom cut and moulded components to a material handling industry that is rapidly expanding into a wider sphere of consumer consciousness. Contact us for a free consultation.
